2. Who May Place an Order
You must have the legal authority to enter into the transaction you are making.
If you purchase on behalf of a company, school, government entity, contractor, farm, organization, or other business, you represent that you are authorized to place the order and accept these Terms and Conditions on its behalf.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact, billing, delivery, and project information.
3. Quotes and Order Requests
Submitting a quote request does not automatically reserve a container or create a binding sale.
A quote may depend on:
- Container availability
- Condition
- Quantity
- Delivery ZIP code
- Transportation costs
- Modifications
- Specialty equipment
- Taxes
- Market conditions
A written quote may include an expiration date.
If a quote expires before payment or order confirmation, updated pricing or availability may be required.

4. Order Acceptance
An order is subject to acceptance by Ohio Storage Container.
An order may not be considered fully confirmed until:
- Required customer information has been received
- The container or product is available
- Pricing has been confirmed
- Delivery requirements have been reviewed
- Required payment or deposit has cleared
- Custom specifications have been approved, where applicable
We may contact you if additional information is needed before an order can proceed.
5. Product Availability
Shipping container inventory changes regularly.
A particular:
- Size
- Color
- Condition
- Door configuration
- Manufacturer
- Model
- Refrigeration unit
- Specialty feature
may not always be available.
Unless a particular container identification number or specific unit has been stated on your written order, photographs shown on the website may represent the general type, size, or condition rather than the exact container delivered.
We will not intentionally substitute a materially different product without discussing the change with the customer.
6. Product Descriptions and Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate information about our products.
However, minor differences may occur between website photographs, descriptions, specifications, and individual containers.
Shipping containers are manufactured by different companies and at different times, so exact measurements, hardware, markings, colors, flooring, and other details may vary slightly.
If a specific feature is essential to your project, confirm it with us before ordering.
Ohio law prohibits businesses from misrepresenting the standard, quality, grade, characteristics, or condition of goods in consumer transactions. We therefore encourage customers to clarify any condition or specification that is important to their purchase before payment.
7. New One-Trip Containers
Containers described as new or one-trip are generally containers that have completed limited cargo transportation after manufacture.
One-trip does not necessarily mean that a container has never:
- Been transported
- Been handled by lifting equipment
- Been stacked
- Been exposed to weather
- Received minor cosmetic marks
A one-trip container may have minor dents, scratches, paint marks, or transportation-related cosmetic wear.
These characteristics do not automatically make the container used in the same manner as a container that has completed years of cargo service.
8. Used Shipping Containers
Used shipping containers have previously been in service and should be expected to show signs of age and use.
Depending on condition and history, normal cosmetic characteristics may include:
- Dents
- Scratches
- Surface rust
- Faded paint
- Patches
- Floor stains
- Previous shipping markings
- Minor repairs
- Variations in appearance
Used containers are not represented as cosmetically new unless specifically stated otherwise.
Customers whose projects require a particular appearance should discuss those requirements before ordering.
9. Wind and Watertight Condition
A used container sold as wind and watertight is intended to have functioning doors and no significant holes or openings that allow ordinary wind or rain to enter when the doors are properly closed.
Wind and watertight does not mean:
- New
- Rust-free
- Dent-free
- Completely moisture-free in every environment
- Climate controlled
- Suitable for every commodity
- Guaranteed against condensation
Condensation can occur inside steel containers because of temperature and humidity changes.
Customers storing moisture-sensitive goods should consider ventilation, insulation, moisture control, or climate control appropriate to their application.
10. Cargo Worthy Containers
If a container is sold specifically as cargo worthy, its suitability for international cargo use may depend on inspection, certification, CSC requirements, carrier requirements, destination requirements, and other factors.
Customers intending to use a container for international transportation must tell us before ordering.
Do not assume that a container sold for stationary storage automatically qualifies for international shipment.
11. Pricing
Prices may vary according to:
- Container size
- Condition
- Inventory
- Market conditions
- Location
- Delivery
- Modifications
- Accessories
- Specialty equipment
Unless specifically stated otherwise, website or product pricing does not automatically include every potential delivery, tax, modification, site-preparation, crane, or special-placement cost.
Material exclusions and additional costs should be disclosed before a consumer transaction is completed, consistent with Ohio consumer-protection requirements.
Your invoice, quote, or checkout total will control the pricing for the accepted order.
12. Pricing Errors
We make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate website pricing.
However, typographical, technical, inventory, or data-entry errors may occasionally occur.
If an obvious pricing error is identified before fulfillment, we may contact you to explain the issue and offer the option to:
- Accept corrected pricing, or
- Cancel the affected order and receive a refund of amounts paid for that item
We will not knowingly advertise a false price advantage or misrepresent an item’s availability.
13. Payment
Payment must be made according to the terms shown on the checkout page, quote, or invoice.
Depending on the order, payment may involve:
- Full payment
- Deposit
- Stage payment
- Final balance before delivery
- Another approved written payment schedule
Orders may not be dispatched until required funds have cleared.
For complete information, review our Payment Policy.
14. Sales Tax
Applicable sales tax will be charged according to the requirements that apply to the transaction.
Customers claiming tax-exempt status may be required to provide appropriate documentation before the order is finalized.
15. Shipping and Delivery
Shipping containers require specialized commercial transportation.
Delivery dates and timeframes may depend on:
- Inventory
- Truck availability
- Distance
- Weather
- Road conditions
- Site readiness
- Container modifications
- Specialty transportation
Any stated delivery date is an estimate unless specifically guaranteed in writing.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate site-access information.
For detailed requirements, read our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
16. Site Access and Preparation
The customer is responsible for preparing a safe and reasonably accessible delivery location.
Before delivery, consider:
- Entrance width
- Turning space
- Ground conditions
- Slopes
- Gates
- Fences
- Buildings
- Trees
- Overhead wires
- Underground utilities
- Septic systems
- Drainage
- Placement surface
The delivery driver may decline a requested placement if it would create an unreasonable risk to people, property, equipment, the container, or delivery vehicle.
Additional transportation or redelivery costs may apply when delivery cannot be completed because the customer provided materially inaccurate site information or failed to prepare the agreed delivery area.
17. Container Placement
We will make reasonable efforts to place the container in the agreed location and orientation.
Exact placement remains subject to:
- Safety
- Truck access
- Surface conditions
- Space
- Delivery equipment
- Driver judgment
A customer’s preferred placement cannot be guaranteed when the site does not allow the delivery to be completed safely.
Door direction should be discussed before dispatch whenever it is important.
18. Risk of Property Damage During Requested Placement
Heavy delivery vehicles can damage soft ground, lawns, gravel, pavement, driveways, landscaping, or underground structures under certain conditions.
Customers should disclose known:
- Septic tanks
- Drain fields
- Irrigation systems
- Underground utilities
- Culverts
- Weak pavement
- Soft ground
- Other hidden conditions
We are not responsible for damage resulting from undisclosed underground conditions or a customer’s request that delivery equipment enter an area that the customer represented as suitable, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
19. Inspection at Delivery
Customers should inspect the container as soon as reasonably practical after delivery.
Check:
- Container size
- General condition
- Door operation
- Flooring
- Visible transportation damage
- Material differences from the order
If you believe the wrong product was delivered or there is significant undisclosed damage, contact us promptly and provide photographs or video.

20. Custom and Modified Containers
Custom projects may include:
- Personnel doors
- Roll-up doors
- Windows
- Electrical installations
- Lighting
- Insulation
- HVAC
- Ventilation
- Shelving
- Workbenches
- Interior finishes
- Custom paint
- Structural alterations
Customers are responsible for reviewing and approving the agreed specifications before fabrication begins.
Changes requested after fabrication begins may:
- Increase price
- Delay completion
- Require additional materials
- Be technically impossible
Custom orders may have different cancellation and return rights because the product has been made or modified specifically for the customer.

21. Refrigerated Containers
Refrigerated containers contain specialized mechanical and electrical equipment.
Customers are responsible for confirming that their property has an appropriate electrical supply and that the container is suitable for their required application.
A qualified electrician or appropriate technician should review installation requirements where necessary.
Unless specifically stated in writing, Ohio Storage Container does not guarantee that a refrigerated container is suitable for a particular food-safety, pharmaceutical, medical, laboratory, or regulated application.
The customer is responsible for determining whether the equipment meets requirements applicable to the products being stored.
22. Containers Used as Homes, Offices, Workshops, Pools, or Structures
Purchasing a shipping container does not automatically give permission to use it as:
- A residence
- Office
- Workshop
- Swimming pool
- Retail building
- Permanent structure
- Occupied space
Zoning, building, structural, electrical, plumbing, fire-safety, HOA, and other requirements may apply.
The customer is responsible for obtaining necessary permits and professional advice.
Ohio Storage Container provides containers and related modifications but does not represent itself as the local authority approving a customer’s land use or building project.

23. Customer Measurements and Specifications
If a customer supplies measurements, drawings, layouts, electrical information, equipment dimensions, or other project specifications, Ohio Storage Container may rely on that information when preparing the order.
The customer is responsible for checking the accuracy of information they provide.
If exact clearances or dimensions are critical, confirm them before fabrication or delivery.
24. Returns, Exchanges, and Refunds
Returns and refunds are subject to our published policy and any specific terms stated on the order.
Eligibility can depend on:
- Product type
- Condition
- Time since delivery
- Custom modifications
- Customer damage
- Return transportation
- Special-order status
Please review our Returns & Refunds Policy before purchasing.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove rights that cannot legally be waived.
25. Order Cancellations
Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel an order.
Cancellation terms may depend on whether:
- Payment has been received
- Transportation has been scheduled
- The delivery truck has been dispatched
- Custom work has begun
- Materials have been ordered
- A container has been specially sourced
Costs already reasonably incurred for a customer-specific order may affect the amount refundable.
26. Warranties and Representations
Any specific written warranty provided with a product will apply according to its stated terms.
We do not intend these Terms to disclaim or misrepresent warranties or statutory rights that apply under law.
Ohio law may imply warranties in certain sales unless they are lawfully excluded or modified. For example, Ohio’s commercial code provides an implied warranty of merchantability in certain transactions involving merchants of goods of that kind.
No employee or representative may create an additional warranty unless it is included in authorized written order documentation.
27. Customer’s Intended Use
The customer is responsible for determining whether a container is appropriate for the intended use.
Factors may include:
- Weight
- Ventilation
- Temperature
- Humidity
- Security
- Flooring
- Electrical requirements
- Local codes
- Fire safety
- Structural modifications
- Hazardous materials
- Regulatory requirements
Tell us about specialized requirements before ordering so they can be considered.
28. Hazardous or Regulated Materials
Customers are responsible for complying with applicable laws and safety requirements concerning any hazardous, flammable, toxic, regulated, or environmentally sensitive materials stored in a container.
Purchasing a bunded or specialized container does not by itself guarantee regulatory compliance.
Professional or regulatory guidance may be required depending on the material and facility.
29. Force Majeure and Events Outside Reasonable Control
Ohio Storage Container is not responsible for delays caused by circumstances reasonably beyond our control, including:
- Severe weather
- Flooding
- Road closures
- Government restrictions
- Labor disruptions
- Transportation interruptions
- Equipment breakdown
- Supply-chain disruptions
- Natural disasters
- Emergencies
- Similar events
When such an event materially affects an order, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate with the customer and arrange the next practical step.
30. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ohio Storage Container will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising solely from delays, customer site conditions, misuse, unauthorized modifications, or use of a product for an application for which it was not represented as suitable.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability arising from fraud, intentional misconduct, or rights that cannot legally be waived.
For consumer transactions, these Terms must be read together with applicable Ohio consumer-protection law.
31. Customer Responsibility After Delivery
Once delivery is completed, the customer is responsible for reasonable care and maintenance of the container.
This may include:
- Maintaining drainage
- Monitoring corrosion
- Lubricating door hardware
- Maintaining seals
- Keeping the container reasonably level
- Protecting electrical systems
- Servicing refrigeration equipment
- Addressing condensation where relevant
Damage caused after delivery through misuse, neglect, unauthorized modification, or unsuitable site conditions may not qualify as a product defect.
32. Website Use
You may use this website for lawful purposes related to learning about or purchasing our products and services.
You may not:
- Attempt unauthorized access
- Introduce malicious software
- Interfere with website operation
- Scrape or copy content unlawfully

- Misrepresent your identity
- Use website content to impersonate Ohio Storage Container
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the website, users, or business.

34. Customer Reviews and Submitted Content
If you submit a review, photograph, testimonial, or other content for publication, you represent that:
- It reflects your genuine experience
- You have the right to provide it
- It does not knowingly contain unlawful or defamatory material
We may format or shorten submitted content for readability but should not materially change the meaning of a genuine customer review.
We will not knowingly fabricate customer reviews.
35. Third-Party Links
Our website may link to government agencies, manufacturers, payment processors, mapping services, or other third-party websites.
These external sites operate independently.
A link does not automatically mean Ohio Storage Container controls or endorses all content, products, or practices on the external website.
36. Privacy
Use of personal information through our website is governed by our Privacy Policy.
Payment information may also be processed according to the policies of the applicable payment processor or financial institution.

- Order confirmations
- Delivery updates
- Policy information

Marketing communications remain subject to applicable law and available opt-out requirements.
38. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in:
- Business operations
- Products
- Website functionality
- Payment processes
- Delivery services
- Legal or regulatory requirements
The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
Changes generally apply prospectively and do not rewrite specific written terms already agreed for a completed transaction unless required by law or agreed by the parties.
39. Severability
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable by a court with appropriate authority, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
40. No Waiver
If Ohio Storage Container does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not automatically waive the right to enforce that provision later.
41. Governing Law
These Terms and transactions with Ohio Storage Container are governed by applicable federal law and the laws of the State of Ohio, without limiting consumer rights that apply under mandatory law.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly should be brought before a court or other forum with lawful jurisdiction over the dispute.
42. Resolving Problems
If you believe there is a problem with:
- Your order
- Payment
- Container condition
- Delivery
- Modification
- Refund
- Invoice
please contact us first so we have an opportunity to review the issue and work toward an appropriate resolution.
Nothing in this section prevents a customer from exercising rights available under applicable law.

43. Related Policies
These Terms should be read together with the policies relevant to your transaction:
If there is a conflict between a general website statement and a specific written term on an accepted quote or invoice, the specific written term for that transaction will control to the extent permitted by law.
Questions About These Terms?
If anything in these Terms and Conditions is unclear, contact us before placing an order.
We would rather explain a container condition, delivery requirement, payment term, or return condition before purchase than have a misunderstanding afterward.
